As excitement grows for the highly anticipated Fruit Attraction tradeshow, a remarkable spotlight will shine on Lebanese fruit and vegetable producers, who are all set to make a resounding mark at the international event.
Lebanon as promising alternative sourcing destination
From October 3-5, 2023, nine GlobalGAP certified Lebanese companies will come together under the Lebanon Pavilion. It is a collaborative effort supported by CBI from The Netherlands, to showcase the country’s finest produce and reaffirm Lebanon’s position in the global market as a promising alternative sourcing destination with a low carbon footprint.
The event, held annually in Madrid, Spain, is renowned for being a platform that brings together professionals, industry experts, and businesses from across the globe to explore the latest trends, innovations, and products in the fruit and vegetable sector. This year’s edition promises to be an exceptional one with the participation of nine Lebanese companies that are making inroads in the international market place.
From avocados and grapes to apples, cherimoyas and potatoes
The Lebanese companies have a wide assortment of fruits and vegetables on offer, including hass and lambhass avocados, seedless and late variety table grapes, red delicious and golden delicious, cherimoyas, tomatoes and maverick potatoes.
The participating companies
- Natagri: A company with a mission to transform the agriculture in Lebanon with a vertically integrated business concept and socially responsible practices producing cherries and table grapes.
- Agrotica: With an area of 100 ha in the Bekaa valley, cultivating table grapes and stonefruit for the domestic and regional market and beyond.
- Bamo Zgheib: The company has earned its reputation as a reliable supplier of premium fruits, mainly table grapes and apples in Lebanon and beyond, adhering to the highest quality standards.
- Fadel: This family business has developed with dedication to innovation and quality to become a prominent exporter of table grapes, avocado and stonefruit to Europe and the Gulf region
- Freshco: With a long track record going back to the 1960s, Freshco is a respected name in Lebanon offering a wide assortment of fruits, vegetables and herbs
- All Fresh: With an integrated business concept from production and logistics all the way to retail, All Fresh is synonymous with freshness and offers a wide array of farm-fresh products including apples and cherimoya
- Nasr Rahme: With some 200 ha of potatoes and onions, Nasr Rahme is a significant player in Lebanon and the Gulf region, especially proud of the new maverick potato variety.
- Daccache Greenline: One of the leading companies in Lebanon when it comes to production and trading of fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes, that reflect Lebanon’s rich agricultural heritage
- Agreen: With a vision to create impact and contribute to a sustainable transformation of agriculture in Lebanon, Agreen offers organic certified fresh fruits, vegetables and processed products
Interesting windows and lower carbon footprint
The Lebanon Pavilion, is a testament to the determination of these companies to showcase Lebanon’s agricultural excellence.
